Wet cobble stones

It’s an exciting day today. Not only is it Easter day, but it’s also the day of the Belgian Classic cycling race ‘The Tour of Flanders’.

The race was first held in 1913, and is renowned for its punishing cobbled hills, particularly during wet weather when traction is limited. It always promises to be a great spectator event, and there are some great riders competing this year.

The cycling season’s really beginning to lift off now – I just wish the UK’s cold weather would, too!

Next up: Paris-Roubaix on Sunday 7th April…
