Picture of a blurred underground train

Writing, performing and recording music has always been a big part of who I am. Back in 2004 I was fortunate enough to be runner-up in a BBC songwriting competition, resulting in interest from a record label and opportunity to perform a showcase.

This in turn led to a predicament: to work the London circuit as a young hopeful artist or start a family and get a ‘safer job’. I chose the latter (no regrets!) but have always hoped, one day, that I can return and find success as a song-writer.

I’m sure many of you can associate with this – the ongoing dream of doing or becoming that thing so important to who you really are: living-out the ‘real you’.

Well, 2017 is the year I’m determined to write and record some new songs. As many of you will know, a busy work and/or family life makes this kind of creative pursuit feel impossible, but I need to make it happen for the sake of the ‘real me’. You only get one life, and all that…

I’d love to hear about your personal stories of wanting/needing to fulfil a lifelong dream, perhaps one that’s become lost in the demands of everyday grown-up life…
