For a while now, I’ve had a vision for a new community initiative called MakeLifeClick. I always knew it would be tough to get off the ground, though I didn’t anticipate C-19 as part of this, and the extent of challenges it would bring.

Despite lots of support over the past few weeks and months, it’s with a heavy heart I’ve decided to pause launch. It’s become clear that most people just don’t have any extra space to actively engage in something like this at the moment, however positive an influence we all feel it could be.

The technology platform is built, though without people with time, it can’t grow.

Note: this post is also on LinkedIn — please read and interact here if you use this platform :-)

So, for now, I’ll leave you with a recap of the community’s vision and purpose, in readiness for another season. Here it is…

The world is being shaken. The fundamentals of life are under scrutiny. What will the future hold? Who and what can I trust? Will I ever feel safe again? Where can I find hope, in the midst of fear and uncertainty?

Technology and the use of Social Media have exploded over the past decade. The way we interact and communicate is constantly evolving. The internet and social networks have become our go-to for asking questions and seeking answers; they’re where we explore the world and gauge our sense of identity, significance and self-worth.

But, there’s a rub; where do we go to…

  • Escape job labels, influencer stats, Likes, self-promotion, picture-perfect lifestyles and other clickable distractions?
  • Reflect upon and discuss the deeper layers of life?
  • Give back to others, through curiosity and sharing of life experiences?
  • Explore being more open and vulnerable, and the good this can bring?

Popular platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook go some way towards providing a place for these things, but their main purpose is different.

The purpose and vision for MakeLifeClick is a community of people committed to exploring this thing called ‘life’ together – of living-out what’s become known as the ‘benefit mindset‘ – of being well and doing good.

We believe everyone has untapped potential and a deeper purpose to fulfil, regardless of background and status. We believe it’s more important than ever to explore these things and enable people to shine, both as individuals and in community together.

The MakeLifeClick community’s main intent is to awaken a renewed sense of connection, direction and purpose, always putting others first, with everyone role-modelling ‘strength through vulnerability’ together.

The community has 7 core values:

  1. Trust
  2. Curiosity
  3. Kindness
  4. Courage
  5. Honesty
  6. Humility
  7. Appreciation

It’s a place to express your whole self, to get back to the basics of what it means to be human and live a fulfilled life. It’s a place to discover more about yourself and your truest potential, in spite of circumstances.

It’s a place to finally make your life ‘click’, whatever this means for you.

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking about yourself less.”

~ C.S. Lewis

The MakeLifeClick community is a place for people who might be…

  • Overwhelmed by busyness
  • Feeling stuck, bored or unfulfilled – “there must be something more?”
  • Experiencing anxiety or fear
  • Lacking self-esteem
  • Feeling age-conscious and like life’s passing them by
  • Lacking direction and/or a sense of purpose
  • Wanting to give back to others
  • Feeling jaded because of other people not showing their real selves
  • Curious about the deeper, more philosophical questions of life

…and much more.

Through being part of the community, people experience a sense of belonging, encouragement, a clearer sense of purpose, and a renewed sense of hope and fulfilment.

Conversely, the MakeLifeClick community is not a place for…

  • Pursuing ‘likes’ and gratifying ego
  • False humility and insincerity
  • Criticism, negativity, passive-aggression or gossip
  • Playing politics

…you get the picture.

Most importantly, everyone plays their part in encouraging others, instilling trust, and ensuring the community remains a fun, edifying and fulfilling place to be.

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking about yourself less.”

A massive thank you to everyone who’s walked with me in this vision so far. It will happen.

Fancy a coffee and a chat about people, purpose, vision, business ideas/opportunities and perhaps even life in general? Drop me a message — you never know, we may have a few things in common…
