Apple Watch or Pebble Time?


I’ve long been an early adopter of new technology. Ever since the purchase of an Amstrad CPC464 back in the 1980s, I’ve been intrigued and fascinated by the advancement of electronics, and what comes next.

Coupled with this fascination is the want to test and review select products ahead of the crowds, particularly those I believe could be of genuine use in everyday life.

Most recently, I’ve been testing a number of new fitness trackers and smartwatches, and asking “are they really worth it, and which one’s the best?”.

Productivity? On an iPad?

When first released, I considered the iPad a content consumption device; great for reading, watching and gaming, but not much else. Since publishing my thoughts about the first generation iPad Mini, I’ve been on a quest to discover whether real productivity on an iPad is possible – whether I can get to the point where I no longer have to reach for my laptop to finish the tasks I’ve started.

So, how’s it been going? Firstly, there’s no denying the new iPad Air 2 is a beautiful device; each new iPad generation brings a sleeker, thinner design, making you want to hold and make regular use of its expensive glass and aluminium frame. I’ve no qualms with the tablet in terms of pure ergonomics, but, in terms of productivity, it’s the software that really counts…
